Description
ok, this is a tribute to Laurell K. Hamilton's faerie stories. it has the eyes of Maeve, Frost, Onilwyn, Sholto, Briac, Barinthus, Rhys, and the lead character Merry. let me just say that i hate how Maeve's eye turned out. its very freakin hard to draw lighting-kissed eyes, let me tell you! my favorites are Sholto, Rhys, and Barinthus. and yes, they are done in a typical anime style, and i know there's only one of each. its hard to draw a matching pair of eyes, especially with such detail.
i decided to do this because the way Hamilton describes the eyes in detail in her stories is just cool. i had to try and capture it on paper. i dont think i did too bad. i had to clean it up in paintshop pro tho because i dont know about you, but whenever i draw with pencil, i get lead smudges EVERYWHERE! i just cant help it. i have no idea how i did my Flirt pic without smudging it all over the place.
tell me what you think, and i urge anyone who has never read Laurell K. Hamilton's works to check them out, both the Merry Gentry Faerie series and the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series. they are both wonderful!
done with colored pencil, mechanical pencil, metalic ink pens, and finished up in paintshop pro for clean up and the titles.
