Well, we've finally reached it: My most hyped movie of the year. The reasons for that should be obvious. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is one of my favorite shows of all time, and I feel that with the show currently in its seventh season, it's generally gotten better and better with each season. But as if that's not enough, the movie was also going to be 2D-animated, something that we haven't gotten from a theatrical movie for a VERY long time. I guess you could argue that we had Sponge Out of Water a few years ago, but even that movie had its whole third act be almost entirely a mix of CGI and live-action, so I don't think that movie counts. And instead of this movie being animated in Flash like the show, it was going to be animated in ToonBoom, a stellar animation style.
So with all these factors going into it, did this movie meet my expectations?
