As a person who spends a vast majority of their time playing video games, and now has a career as a video game artist, the issues and hot topics surrounding the industry has been on my mind a lot recently.
For a lot of people, video games are nothing more than entertainment, a hobby, etc. For others, it's a living, and the number of developers, artists and commentators only rises each year as the gaming industry becomes bigger and more mainstream.
However with anything that takes the world by storm, there are always issues, controversies and plain old drama surrounding it. And if you've been following the general game scene online you will know this to be especially true in the last couple of years.
I'm not going into the fine details of such things, as this journal could then easily spiral into dozens of paragraphs of ranting and I want to keep it fairly open for discussion.
