It is clear that the new regime has resulted in an overall loss of functionality. There are many things I could do before that are now impossible. But what I really wonder about is this:
I generally look at new spots from accounts I subscribe to about once a day. Every morning there would be about 150 posts. Since the change there have been 30 or fewer. I suppose people unfamiliar with and hostile to Eclipse might simply not be posting. But it occurs to me the other possibility is that that is how much Eclipse thinks I need to see and doesn't bother to populate the list with more new posts.
It also occurs to me that there used to be a single page where every morning I would see all the new posts, then a tier will all the new group posts, and then final tier with all the new journal entries. As far as I can tell, now the only to see journal entries would be to hunt for them in the list that includes a separate line for each view on one my posts, which pretty much means I'll never see
I understand there is a move to boycott DA on May 1-3 in an effort to convince them not to force everyone into using a phone app on their computer (why would anyone ever look at DA on a phone?). I doubt it will work, but why not?
