Even though Qilin are only there to help they do make mistakes and that tends to be what some creatures remember. Qilin are quite sensitive creatures so any criticism is taken to heart. They internalize and there is quite a bit of sui*de among them. As there is no therapist for them they have nowhere to turn. Each one believes that the beliefs of one being is the same with everyone else. They spend their entire lives protecting and caring and are often taken advantage of. The first time Kirin came out of her burrow after her most recent molt she was startled and her tail set on fire, this caused a bush to catch fire and in attempts to set it out she set even more things on fire. The birds and squirrels berrated her as everywhere she went fire followed. Finally she put out her tail and was able to tend to the damage she caused. The animals of the forest continued until a certain ghost scared them off. Later that night she was stuck with the memories of the day and was unable to cope so after a long night of crying her body shut down for a while and she fell into a deep sleep not to awake until a week later when she was needed again.
