This little guy is approximately 7" tall. I kind of have an obsession with needle-felting eyes now :) I think my old needle was worn or just sucked.. because the eyes were pretty quick when I used a brand new needle. Also, there is wire in his legs because I wanted him to be able to stand as well as sit, but that is entirely optional. Anyway, here is the pattern!

**Please, please, please credit me for the pattern because it took me quite a while to convert my notes into something understandable! Also, let me know if you catch any mistakes or if you have any questions!

Chocobo Pattern:

As usual, please credit me should you use or alter this pattern since it takes me a lot of time to figure out and type these up and please be respectful and don't sell the finished product since I don't own this character!  Thank you!

If you would like to make a donation to fuel my yarn addiction and for the free patterns, I would be ever-so grateful! :dummy:

Just finally finished mine. I did the pieces years ago but never assembled it. I'm so happy with how it turned out! Thanks for the great pattern!

This is amazing! It's actually inspired me to learn how to crochet from scratch XD

I've been practicing for a while now and I've just made the head, but thought of a question that I'd love to hear back from anyone who's made this.

Are all pieces to this finished off by closing them, or are some left with open tops to sew together (eg, legs)?

The pattern says to finish off every section, and I guess you could happily do either that or mix it with some open-ended pieces, but I'd love to hear from someone more experience with this. :D

Or, alternatively, does literally every piece finish off without closing the hole at the end?

Hi hi!  I'm a total nin-nog for forgetting to share my finished choco with you.  (It's been a while).

I'm still not great at taking pictures, but here's my effort. Thanks so much for a clear, precise write up!

Okay so I love this pattern but...it seems my chocobos feet are too big for the body even though I'm positive I'm following the pattern to the letter. So....what am I doing wrong? My yarn for both the body and the feet are the same size, I'm using the same hook too. :/

This is super cute! I had a question about the pattern. On the head, when you say: 'sc around 7 times' do you mean sc 7 rows?
ATCFan's avatar
I've followed this pattern a couple times and that's what I've done for each? So I'd assume that it's what they meant. Otherwise the chocobo would have a super flat head.

Hi! I finally finished mine and forgot to upload it.  I wonder if this link work...  Got to add some pics to my account here too. *blush* Thanks so much for the easy to understand pattern. Hope I did it justice. Didn't use any wire in the legs.

I had problem with the chocobos wings. (15) there's too many stitches and it didn't come out right. Am I messing up somewhere?
candie58199's avatar
what part are you having issues at? I'm making this for my first time and I didn't have issues with stitch count. Are you doing the increases (aka the hcd + the regular stitch) within the same stitch?

I think I figured it out thanks :D
