the unique and breathtaking highlands of Iceland are under severe threat. The new Icelandic government is aiming at new powerplants, power lines and paved roads to satisfy the energy needs of one of the most energy consumig and polluting industries of the planet - the aluminium shelters. One of the last wildnernesses of Europe is therefore in great danger. Mighty glacial rivers with enormous waterfalls are to be dammed up, fascinating geological and geomorpgologicals formations to be irreversibly destroyed. Iceland is about to waste its most valuable ressource for foreign companies and industriy - its unmatched nature.
I'm very glad about my highlight at this years international photography competition "Asferico" with my Iceland photograph "Cracks" in the landscape section!
