Because people have been asking! This thing seems to be my internet legacy. It was made for the The Endless Forest community, hence the human-faced fantasy deer added. Download for big size!

People like reposting this for some reason, so I figured I should upload it properly.

This chart is not 100% accurate - it’s only male sizes, and the measurements are from Wikipedia. Size can also vary a lot depending on which subspecies you look at! I think most of these are on the taller end of each species' spectrum.

If you can’t read the numbers on the left side, from top to bottom it says

- 2 m (~6 ft 7 in.)
- 1.5 m
- 1 m (~3 ft 4 in.)
- 0.5m

1. Human
2. TEF Deer*
3. TEF Deer, mini**
4. Mouse Deer***
5. Moose (also known as European Elk)
6. Fallow Deer
7. Whitetail Deer
8. Pudú
9. Pronghorn
10. Reindeer/caribou
11. Red Deer
12. Roe Deer
13. Mule Deer
14. Muntjac****
15.  Megaloceros giganteus/Irish Elk/Irish Giant Deer
16. Shika
17. Elk/Wapiti
18. Marsh Deer
19. Blackbuck
20. Greater Kudu
21. Lesser Kudu
22. Gerenuk
23. Thomson’s Gazelle
24. Blue Wildebeest/Gnu
25. Saiga antelope
26. Eld’s Deer
27. Hog Deer
28. Pampas Deer
29. Sambar Deer
30. Bighorn Sheep
31. Père David Deer
32. Bongo (antelope)
33. Gray Brocket
34. Chital/Axis Deer

* This height is based on how big they are in comparison to poppies and the altar in the Ruins. May be inaccurate.
** Same as above.
***Which one of them, I don’t know. Probably Philippine Mouse Deer.
**** No idea which species/subspecies.

Thank you for a wonderful reference! Also, it is bonkers to me that moose are only just smaller than freaking Irish elk.

pardon my language but holy shit, those are some big-ass moose (meese?)

There’s also the Stag Moose and Broad-fronted Moose which are said to be larger than Megaloceros. Broad-fronted being the biggest.

Shame the Irish Elk isn't around still, would love to see one in person alive

Nod Nicely done. I love how you have included the extinct megaloceros to the chart. Magnifying Glass Are there any other extinct animals on the picture?

I didn't know moose were that big!

Impala are antelope and are not in the deer family. This is a chart just showing cervid (deer). :)

Had to click down to figure out what the heck #15 was. Then I had to wikipedia it. Now I'm down a rabbit hole, thanks! XD

Second largest deer ever. Big enough to kick an Utahraptor´s head off it´s shoulders!

If only you included both the common and giant eland. I always wanted to see a comparison between an eland and a moose
Pootisman90's avatar
The moose is bigger, but the giant eland is the largest antelope.
MetalBrony823's avatar
Well I hope you don't mind these facts, but the eland are supposed to weigh more than a moose, like a ton compared to only half a ton for a bull moose.
Pootisman90's avatar
The ton is the max for the eland, but yes, it is heavier than a moose (like comparing a dwarf with an elf).

I absolutely love this! Must have taken you a long time to make ;-;
