Say @AoiWaffle0608 are you interested in using autogyros for a Dieselpunk-themed world setting?
I recently found this other style called the pusher configuration autogyro ( pusher vs tractor configuration ) with one early example from 1931 called the Buhl A-1 Autogyro. Plus, I realised some other examples of autogyros actually had aircraft-like wings like the Pitcairn PCA-2, Kamov A-7 and Cierva C.19 winged autogyros. This actually reminded me of compound helicopters like the Piasecki 16H Pathfinder and the Lockheed AH-56A Cheyenne.
Since the Dieselpunk genre is meant to be a retro-futuristic setting but using 1930s to 1950s aesthetics and tech examples, couldn't the examples I've suggested (i.e. pusher configuration autogyro and compound helicopter) offer some new ideas besides the classic tractor configuration autogyros like the Cierva C.30 or Kayaba Ka-1?
One thing I think is advantageous for a pusher configuration autogyro or a compound helicopter is the better visibility and larger passenger/pilot compartment out front to work with.
What do you think of this idea (i.e. pusher configuration autogyro and compound helicopter designs) for a Dieselpunk-themed story setting?
Hey guys, I was just introduced to this pic and looks like if we can combine the pic example with real-world hybrid airship research like the Hybrid Air Vehicles Airlander 10, it could fit well in a Dieselpunk genre setting with its retro-futuristic look while looking plausible.
