Pochi
about as good a boy as a pupper can get. he likes fetch, pets, and big steaks to chew on. truly man's best friend ... or woman's, in Hel's case

wanted to go as simple as possible, just to get that cute pupper feel. o.o hell, even the name is simple, it's to Japan as Rex or Max is to America; the quintessential stereotypical dog name

<_<;; drawing quadrupeds is always a task and a half for me. o.o could've changed, had he made it all the way to Gigawolf. yeah, Mightyena evolves in the hack ... o_o but into a supposedly giant Zoroark with a stupid name that never got explained

Mayu
quirky, perky, and likes jerky. she's a spontaneous one who's a very much needed bit of levity in this fucked up world. she's also a blunt and shameless pervert, so she's the closest thing to a best friend/fuck buddy that Hel has

she's not the only Mayu i've had. o.o in my first ever run through the hack, i called a Skitty that ... so since then, it kinda became a theme for myself

o.o a much more simpler quadruped. shame Skitty didn't get anything else in this hack. o.o it became earlier and both Poochyena and Zigzagoon got new evos, but ...

Breakfast
a mysterious egg with a southern accent. no one knows where it comes from or where the accent comes from ... or how it's even able to eat. it's just an enigma


o3o;; the fucking egg you get in the beginning. o.o it's full of potential, it's a slow grind, but the end result is worth the effort. really, by 43, after evolving twice from 2 other eggs (yes, really. it's an egg, that hatches into an egg that evolves into an egg ... twice), it can become one of 4 Johtonian legends (excluding the birbs) ... or an Unown with an amazing stat spread. just gotta have some evo stones on hand

Christine
shy, withdrawn, and frightened of many things. she was never a confident one to begin with, but her meekness was what got her through the apocalypse so far. you'd think she would've died on day one, but pretending to be a cushion can actually get one fairly far

much like Mayu, she's based on a poke of the same name from an older run through Snakewood. o.o even got drawn nearly a decade ago. i had such a soft spot for this one, i couldn't not bring her back. o.o an old friend at the time also had a soft spot for her

._. these things are fucking hard to draw and you're wrong if you say they aren't. on top of being a quadruped, there's all those bristles. o.o if i ever did a normal Hoenn run, i'd suffer from that since these are a sure thing to get ... o3o;; and such a reliable thing to get too, Pickup is broken in gen 3

Trent
a calm Pikachu ... who's been through a lot in the past month or so. for one thing, he's an insomniac. but he doesn't mind, as long as his dearest friend, Sis, is safe. his history's been documented here and told by him in 4.5

this isn't the first time i used this name in a run. o_o it's taken from an old undocumented run. o.o it just seemed fitting, especially as trents are tree monsters and you see him surrounded by trees. pretty simple, really

o.o the body was tricky to get at first. despite drawing pokes for more than a decade, i almost never make Pikachu. o.o thankfully, Trent's generally one of the easier teammates to make, just don't make whole ass legs

Sis
a Slakoth who's really slow ... in a literal sense. she's so slow that she lags behind on conversations, usually reacting like 10 seconds after someone's said something. Sis isn't bright, but she's a sweetheart. o.o she's very close to Trent, who she helped out weeks before the events of the comic

she is based entirely on a Slakoth of the same name from an old friend's incomplete Snakewood run (17 pages) ... and not Padparadscha (best off color gem), this predated her intro by 4 1/2 years ... and Steven Universe itself by a year. but yeah, Sis is an homage to Sis

o.o among these tricky quadrupeds, Sis is a much needed relief to make. Slakoth aren't very hard ... o_o though you gotta keep making em lying around, they ain't exactly active. you almost never see em standing. o3o;; this is to the point where i totally forgot they have pink bellies

Dr. Blackthorn
an enigmatic scientist and one of the last honest people left in the region (his words). though a bit crass at times, he's a genuinely good man who just wants to do what he can to help in this crazy world. <_<;; since ... well, shit's gone wack, yo. o_o someone has to have some damn sense, you know? o.o he was once affiliated with a, once secret, scientist syndicate called Live Labs, which was filled with brilliant minds, but had long since left due to these minds being ... human garbage

o.o despite his importance in the story (you actually meet him pretty late, though), he has no design whatsoever. just the overworld scientist (there's no pics). so i mixed that and the GSC Scientist since ... well, Blackthorn. o_o so yeah. also, his full name is never revealed and Live Labs is my own thing, i just thought i'd flesh him out more

Jiraiya
Hel's Toxicroak and her best bro 4 lyf. the 2 have been inseparable since childhood. he's the straight man of the pair, but is more than willing to go along with Hel's various escapades to watch out for her ... o3o and because he loves her. o_o despite being fully evolved, he's not much of a battler. he's a full companion poke. but if Hel were to have officially gone on a journey, he'd be her starter in a heartbeat, no questions asked

o_o near the very end of the game, it's revealed the player character's had their own starter all along; a male Toxicroak (gender's guaranteed). Landon got him as a gift from Dawn years ago to give to the player ... and Dr. Blackthorn's had him for safekeeping this whole time, so yeah. that's the reason for the early appearance of him and the doctor, as well as his name being thrown around here and there. o.o though the name ain't canon to the hack, i just thought of something that a kid who watches a lot of anime would use

Gleis
an enigmatic and powerful Taoist with otherworldly abilities. this odd man with bold fashion choices and his demon companions fight for their own causes. his preferred combatant of choice is a bizarre face sucking creature literally called a Faceleech

o.o a prominent figure all throughout the game. i could've fused the overworld and the full sprite since they differ, o.o but nah. Gleis has a fully realized design and i like to be loyal to em. o_o though the Cutlerine isn't much of a spriter, i couldn't tell apart some articles of clothing, so chances are i could've made the clothes awkward. looks fine to me, though

Dantalion
Gleis's demon servant. he's very loyal to his summoner, but isn't afraid to question him. he enjoys the Triathlete corpse he inhabits since it kind of reminds him of The Terminator

o.o i literally just used the RSE Triathlete for this. it's a mix of that and the overworld sprite. Dantalion himself doesn't have a full design (or personality), so there's plenty of free reign. o_o though i do like to go for accuracy while i can

Elise
the Cut Man's daughter. this young lady has had some history with Landon and May, as well as Hel. she was, very understandably, seen as a horrible influence, so Elise never got to hang out with Hel much. she hung out with May a lot, mainly so her dad could look at her fat tits. go figure. unlike her father and all her classmates, Elise managed to survive the apocalypse ... though she ended up being taken prisoner by the ones who summoned the demon plague in Rustboro

o3o;; design-wise, she is literally just the RSE Lass. o.o well, more a fusion of that and the overworld. the enormous teenage tits aren't even (fully) my own design choice, o3o;; the RSE Lass legitimately had ... interesting proportions. you'd be surprised with just how many teens legitimately have tits like that ... o_o or not at all surprised if you're in America, like i am. i once knew a 12 year old with real DD's back in middle school

Pria Megistus
Hel's mother and deceased. in life, she was a laid back woman ... who was once known for being the biggest (and tightest) slut in Olivine. things changed when she met a passionate guy named Norman in a swinger's party. one thing led to another and she went to live a peaceful life as a mother of 2 in the asscrack of west Hoenn. she didn't leave behind her loose life, though. in fact, when Hel was conceived, she had Norman, a neighbor, and his Mightyena all in her cunt at once, along with that neighbor's kid in her ass

she is the very reason why Hel perfected her ass eating skills. being sexually active at a young age (Hel truly is her daughter), she's been desperate to get a piece of her mom's gigantic ass. sadly, this would never happen. o_o not for moral reasons, far from it. hell, Landon lost his virginity to this woman. but because Pria had a downright horrific lesbian experience in college and swore off women forever as a result. o3o;; yes, that is literally the only reason. o_o don't believe those crappy movies on Lifetime, women are capable of being far more manipulative than any man could be

o_o this is literally just a design derived straight from the Hoenn mom's overworld sprite since there's no official full thing. o.o yeah, Caroline exists, but that milf and this milf are totally different ... <_<;; actually, now that i think of it, i could've just used the OR/AS mom (there's no good image) this whole time. dammit! but yeah, considering how curvy the sprite actually is from the side, i just went full "Pixar mom" there. o3o;; it's even in the name, i un-nobodied it ....... Kingdom Hearts? ... o.o really, you don't get i-<_<;; i just removed the X and jumbled it up. Nobodies have jumbled up names with X's in em. there's your damn explanation

Tonnato Vitello
a bitter and generally unpleasant old woman, now deceased. in life, she was just that type of neighbor whose window you didn't want your baseball to break through since she'll just yell your eardrums out ... and she's the kind of person who would judge you for going out with that nice and generous ambiguously tan guy from the other town, so yeah, a damn Karen. Hel often got a earful from her, but mostly because of her drunken escapades often resulting in her watering the lawn with her piss. o_o amusingly, Mrs. Vitello's plants have flourished because of this, particularly her award winning goldenrods

due to how much meat she was known for keeping, it was rumored that she was once one of the most feared caporegimes of the Meat Mafia, being real close to Don Carne himself. it's also rumored that she murdered her ex-husband and turned him into salsiccia (it's an italian sausage) to feed to the don's Houndoom ... just because he forgot their anniversary ... and no other reason. of course these are merely just rumors ... but maybe ...

o3o;; she's literally just that first corpse you see in Petalburg that you loot the Leftovers from, and nothing else. no backstory in the hack. i turned her into a throwaway character, but she just became a reoccurring gag. Vitello was also just a throwaway name, i forgot that it was the name of the old lady who ran the flower shop in Hey Arnold. o.o turns out it's also a veal dish. funny how these things work out, huh?
