Hey, everyone's into pokemon, right? Better hop on that pokemon-re-imagined-bandwagon.

Actually, that's not the point of this. But I can't help but be sarcastic/satirical about it -_-

Anyways. I always liked Haunter's design, big claws, floating hands, pumpkin-like mouth. So I thought he'd be neat to draw in my own style, in my own vision; this is haunter re-imagined as a sort of deity, some sort of demi-god or demon. So, a notch up from "ghost" status; not just a ghost, but a demon of sorts. Thus the horns and the addition of a nose, as well as fire. I chose to give him obsidian-like claws/teeth. I was very much inspired by kokodriliscus's colour scheme he came up with for his haunter www.deviantart.com/art/Grim-Ha… . Loved the blue glow in the eyes and mouth. My peice lacks movement and contrast in comparison (somehow I'm very bad with colour, everything is pretty monotone and flat, not much visual interest going on.. I think this is due in part to my monitor, which displays dark colours/pure-black as a shiny blue, and light colours/pure-whites as a shiny over-bloomed white. Basically anything closest to pure white/black is reflected back to me, in other words, my monitor is terrible for art).

I worked a long time on this, I'm pretty pleased with the rendering, if nothing else. It needs more colour variation, some extra lightsource, more attention to the background.. refined fire. My work always needs work.. but anywho, this is about as good as I can do right now.
