Get startedIt takes a strong heart and mind to withstand the power of Corrupted Eather, but those who are able to face it head on can build up an immunity to its effects. Some, however, decide instead to embrace its dark power and take it for themselves. Which path will you choose?
Step 1 - "Torn"You have journeyed far into the depths of the Caprian ocean, where large cracks in the ocean floor ooze with inky black corrupted Eather. It calls to you; a song of seduction intended to ensnare even the most pure-of-heart. For those already Cursed, it is like a lullaby, familiar and comforting. Eventually, you realize that you have drifted close enough to the strands of Eather that you could reach out and touch them. It calls to you strongly, but you know if you touch it, your soul will be lost. Art: Can your Griffolk withstand the call of the Eather? Draw or write your Griffolk in the midst of the Corrupted Eather. Are they conflicted, or do they know exactly what they want?
Your decision in Step One affects the rest of the Trial! Those who succumbed to the temptation of the power must complete the Path of Corruption. Those who were able to resist the Eather’s call move on to the Path of Purification.
Path of CorruptionStep 2 - "Sweet Surrender"
The Corrupted Eather envelops you, oozing into your pores and darkening your insides. It’s at once both agony and ecstasy as you feel the power coursing through your body. Art: Draw or write your Griffolk reacting to Corrupted Eather as it claims them. What will they do with this new power? How has it changed them?
Step 3 - "Point of No Return"
Dazed by your surrender to the power of the Eather, you open your eyes to see that the Cetus Princess, Desdemona, has sensed your transition and has come to recruit you to her ranks. Art: Desdemona has given your Griffolk their first task as part of her army. Does your Griffolk obey, or do they somehow find the strength to resist her in favor of their own desires? Draw or write your Griffolk’s reaction to Desdemona’s demand. (Both Desdemona and your Griffolk must be included in this step.)
Path of PurificationStep 2 - "It's My Life"
Your resistance to the Eather’s effects has drawn an enraged Cetus to your location. With dread, you realize it is none other than the Cetus Princess, Desdemona! Art: Does Desdemona attack, or try to use her wiles to convince you to change your mind and touch the Eather willingly? Draw or write your Griffolk resisting her! (Both Desdemona and your Griffolk must be included in this step.)
Step 3 - "The Talisman"
The battle against Desdemona has been won and she has retreated, but you still must do something about the outbreak of Corrupted Eather here. You recall that Agatha, the powerful magic user who is Desdemona's sister, has given you a talisman just for that purpose. This act, along with your defiance of the Eather’s corruption, will magically purify not only the Eather around you, but yourself as well. After completing this step, you will gain immunity to the Corrupted Eather’s call and the curse that comes with it! Art: Draw or write your Griffolk using Agatha’s token to purify the Eather surrounding them.
