Yoru Ni II

Seeing this piece at first glance I am immediately hit with "The Matrix", the blue pill or the red pill, how the world really is or ignorant bliss. The two clashing pictures sliced, a world apart from each other. It shows a bright ignorant happy place where you can continue on living and make more happy memories. The right side showing how the world isn't bright and for happy memories because of what is really going on. It's a world filled with decay and hate, it's dark and shady compared to what you can just choose to ignore. This picture hit me hard, me having a crisis going on lately, I mean who wouldn't choose the beautiful ignorant bliss?

I love the colors and textures, how welcoming the store entrance looks, and that sort of split effect you get from light to dark.

That is kind of a strange building. On the one hand, it reminds me of the older part of downtown, yet it has some strikingly modern features in the windows.

The real genius to this is how the edge of the building cuts the picture in two, making it appear like a charming storefront with a shady alley behind it, as if the store were a front for shady activity!
