Striding towards you, he grabs a knife cutting a chunk of pie sticking it into the microwave, waiting for it to heat. Digging out a fork, he pokes it between his teeth avoiding your scrutinizing gaze as you stare at him curiously.

Insomnia. At least that’s what most people think it is when they haven’t slept in days, the correct term would be sleep deprivation. Depriving oneself of sleep in order to stay up and do something they enjoy whether it is reading, video games, or eating. Insomnia is where you physically and mentally cannot get your brain to shut down to allow you a wink of sleep. People with sleep deprivation can easily go to sleep they just force their bodies to the limit, again comparison insomniacs try to make their bodies rest but alas can’t without the help of a prescription strong enough to knock out an elephant.
That brings us to where you are, slowly making your way towards the 24/7 pharmacy at three in the morning your desperation at a high not to mention you used up the last of your insomnia pills two days ago.
