Spanish sailing ships venture down the watery avenues of Times Square, New York and discover The New World.
I wanted to create an alternative moment when Christopher Columbus discovers The New World.
Because of the POV and high resolution I was working with, I couldnt find any appropriate photostock so I had to work from textures found at cgtextures.com to build a plate that I could then paint over using photoshop.

Columbus landed in 2040s New York City, William The conqueror landed in 8th century Denmark, and German troops from WWI attacked a 41st Century Alpha Centaurian Legion. 28th century highways dissolved into Roman farmland, and so on. One Spaceship, hailing from the year 2704, reported seeing a conflict later identified as a taking place in 11537 A.D., the longest recorded jump forward.
