I think this is a sort of ornamental garlic or onion breed, and it inspired me to give it even more color and a mystic shine (:

Initial Impression: Pretty! Is that photography? No way... Says it is... but I am dubious. Examine. Examine. Examine. Oh no it's photography, how cool! I've never even seen something like this! Ooooooo! Then I got down to appreciating it and pondering the techniques behind it.

Perception Lines: My attention definitely stays focused on the flowers primary cluster, only trailing down and to the sides to look at the colorful blotches that must be other flowers. It's a very focused piece.

Vision: The stylistic choices on this picture elevate it from pretty flower shot to work of art, for sure. It almost feels surreal in its depiction and overall it's a visually pleasing piece.

Originality: I've never seen this particular plant nor photography done up in this style. The composition is strong, the subject is unique to me, and the style of post-photography touch ups is new as well. Thus I would consider this a unique take on floral photography, in my unprofessional opinion.

Technique: Everything looks great except the stem of the primary flower. That looks flat and almost like it was painted in. The rest of the piece maintains a surreal take on a mundane flower.

Impact: Despite the pleasing visual, unique style choices, and solid composition. I don't feel like this piece has a subject matter. It doesn't leave me thinking or wanting more, it merely tickles my senses in a nice way.

Thank you very much, this is very helpful.

I particularly like how you've pointed out the lack of message. I wasn't aware of that until you said it, but it is quite on the spot. The picture was taken and processed just with the pretty flower in mind, and to enhance that as much as I could.

I believe it's a relative to this sort of plant: [link]

Thank you very much for taking the time and writing the critique!
