Finally, after a long time of missing my mojo, I decided this morning that I would take a long walk/hike at the Oostvaarderplassen, a Dutch nature reserve near Lelystad, again. I hadn't been willing to go out for a long time, because I just missed the inspiration. Winter usually does that for me, but it seemed like it was worse this time. I'm still not sure what it was, but I'm glad that it seems to be gone.

This doe was hiding in the reed and it was impossible to get any closer, after making a lot of photographs and I already decided I wasn't getting a good shot, she seemed to hear my thoughts and suddenly looked at me. That one sprit of reed kind of bothers me, but it also shows that she was really well hidden.

Taken with a Canon 7D, 70-200mm + extender.

Ah, you're not the only one missing your mojo when it comes to things like this!

Long walks/hikes are great for photographic opportunities, I have to say.

A fantastic shot! I really like how you have the doe in focus, with nature surrounding it. The depth of field is great, and the greens offer a nice contrast to things too.

nice one
The last weekend I was on a walk with my brother. And while we were talking a roe deer was standing next to us - and didn't even run away. But, of course, not expectating this, the camera wasn't ready.

But since it didn't run away, you had time to start up the camera? :B

I usually don't have this much patience either, but she was really close and I was in awe for a while. :B

Thanks, Jon!
