Nintendogdemons by AnnMY Nintendogdemons by AnnMY
After two days of intense program testing, I've come to the conclusion that I'll be using Clip Studio Paint Pro as my new drawing platform. Not sure if I'll be dropping SAI completely, transitioning from one program to the next isn't like, done in a flash, but for now, I might as well announce that my SAI days are done.

And so I celebrated with a SessKag doodle~

Lovely work! I really like Paint Tool Sai 2, it's much easier for me. The text tool is a savior.

Thank you very much! Yeah I totally see where the easier bit comes in, part of the reason I've waited so long to switch programs heh.

I just made the switch to Clip from SAI myself about a month ago! I'm loving it thus far. :'3 There are still some things I miss about SAI, but it's hard for me to go back and forth between the two.

Yah I finally settled on Clip since it was the only program that could like, properly reconstruct my loose, floppy lines haha - photoshop and krita and the others kinda demanded too much tweaking and pen pressure and whatnot, and given part of the reason I switched in the first place was to alleviate the stress on my poor limbs... Eh, didn't work. And very true, I miss part of SAI's easy interface, but I'm not sure how much I'll be using it from now on; maybe for an odd, old lineart or two, but little else.

Haha yeah. I was a huge fan of Manga Studio back in the day, so going to Clip is like going home. XD;;

I'm trying to save up so I can eventually afford Corel Painter to pair with Clip

Aw that I can well believe~

Oh truly? I tried Corel back in high school (once we convinced our backwards art teacher that digital media was a legit art platform...) he got us a couple licenses but the software was too heavy for my computer, and when it did work it was laggy and buggy af, so I gave up. x'3 Then again it -was- much more unstable back then compared to now, or so it sounds like.

I hear it's really become a sort of industry standard as far as digital painting goes. XD Or rather, the newest versions always have good reviews. The only complaint I've seen is that there doesn't seem to be much of a community for it that's into making tutorials. Instead, I think there's just a digital painting book somewhere that most people buy to learn how to use Corel.

I hear it's still super beefy though and requires a bit of a good computer. XD

Cross our fingers it's become better then! But yeah I guess that would be a hindrance, especially for online learners, not to have a lot of tutorials to start out with. From what I do remember, Corel is a step up in the professional direction so the interface isn't too straight-forward nope.

omfg well some things just don't change then. xD Apparently you can't stand up to Photoshop unless you're a GPU-hogging software eh~

It would seem so! But Adobe's gotten so expensive. You can't just buy it anymore. It's actually a constant subscription. $20 a month for as long as you want to keep your suite. And even more money if you don't cancel on the exact date you first bought your subscription!

Gosh yes, I checked out the trial and man those prices?? It's crazy how they demand such an outrageous sum, like it's not all of us who want Adobe ALSO want all that other needless shit like the cloud features or the picture/stock photos feature whats-its, goddamn luxury issues all of it. Like maybe Adobe's always been about the money but since the CC was launched I feel their cynicism has hit the roof or something.
