It terms of looks, generally(what you tend to do most) how do you make your ocs looks different from your other ocs? (I know people tend to do the same default face for naruto ocs, and I'm not any better XD)

I like to try and give them different eye colours and hairstyles mostly, but it works on some OCs more than others XD

faces mostly i would say, as i try to make them look different by noses and eyes ;v; body shape also, mochiko is curvy, singapore flat and think, and kanten is just like pff normal XD also hair of course owo

The combination of those 3 defiantly make characters stand out, it's especially fun to make the characters have different body types and hair styles :XD: Having the same body type for all the characters is pretty boring...

yep! tbh i don't have much experience with men (yet im training under the watchful eye of my friend), but i was so sly to match my male oc's appearance with a perception of him :iconheplz: my twins have this same problem/luck that they appear much younger than they actually are, so my poor kanten is often mocked for being a pansy squirt hahha

Im sure you'll be able to get it down soon!
Omg XD pansy squirt I love it :lmao:
My Susumu is also on the scrawny side; he's about naruto's size I think

I'm always trying to do different hairstyles and eye shapes. Maybe also do differently the heights. And also another color schemes are good for various characters.

Oh yeah, heights defiantly make the character stand out, especially when they are very short or extremely tall, didn't think of that!

Well, mostly eye shapes and also other futures like the lips or beauty marks but not the nose xD oh and hairstyles  but i never gave any attention to the body type~ except for the chest for girls c:

Kind of the same, it's hard to give OCs different nose styles since they look kind of weird XD
Body types are also kind of hard too, since most of the Naruto girls just have different bust sizes too lol

True xD that's why i don't bother care for the very details when creating a new oc~ i just draw them however it came to my mind :p

I try to give a variety of eye shapes, facial features (ie beauty marks/freckles), hair styles, body types, I also usually stick to the same color scheme for each character and try not to deviate too far to what I consider that character's aesthetic trademark, and I also like to reflect their personality through body language -- but lately I've been looking into giving them different kinds of noses and lips!
anniberri's avatar
Ohh I didn't think about color schemes, but that defiantly is something that would make them all stand out! Also the body language/posture

Yeah like a character that's confident or outgoing might have their legs spaced further apart, better posture, arms crossed or something but a character that's more shy and reserved would have their legs closer together and their shoulders slouched. I also keep track of things that I associate with that character like seasons, metals, gemstones, etc because it all ties into their personality/backstory to differentiate them somehow.
