Cover art: Ink by annecain Cover art: Ink by annecain
Cover illustration and design for "Ink", coming soon from Dreamspinner Press, 2011. Super fun to work on this cover...

On a side note, I wonder if including the text is distracting from the art. People will be able to see the cover with my text design on the publisher's website, Amazon, etc...wonder if I should keep the focus on the ART at DA.

Terrific cover, the illustration is so eye-catching and interesting. It's the kind of cover that makes you wonder what the story is--which is what it should do. Thanks.

Wow, I really love the colour choice on this one! It's very muted and I can practically see the visual appeal on a shiny book. Fantastic focus and really nice selection!

I'm a huge fan of yours, which you *know* -- and I love seeing the covers as well as the art that goes into them. It's nice to know we can purchase a book and own a piece of your art along with it. But then I'm rather partial, since you've done covers for me. Shoot, you're even a character in one of them!

As one of your cover art fans, I appreciate the text. I like to see how you use different styles. Since I aspire to be even 10% of the artist you are, I want to see it all =).

I love it! I'd buy it on the cover alone. Great job and I hope to see more covers soon (they are my secret favorite thing b/c I am an author).

Personally, I think it depends upon the illustration. We design covers with the text in mind. If the image stands alone perfectly well or had to be cropped in the final, display it text-less! But I also enjoy seeing the finished layout so both ways, maybe?

BTW, this one is purrrrdy.
