If I lived in a loft (which I don't) but if I did, I would hang your series in blue on my walls . They would be super huge bigger than life size...man, wouldn't they be amazing...:omg:

i really appreciate the fleshiness of the figure.. and i also really like that the blue is not "electric blue", but a soft muted blue... it looks more like blue light is being cast as opposed to her skin being blue...

well done.

Anna, I think you have another excellent piece here. I keep coming across your name in various, random visits to othher people's pages. It is not surprising. While I am a bit jealous, I am also learning from you how to loosen up a bit and not be so anal in my insistence on trifling detail. You are inspiring me to get back to my easel in spite of my full time job. Thanks.

you are very welcome  It is great to know i inspire you, I can get very anal about detail too but i have found that working on more than one painting at the same time allows me to step back from the work occasionaly and gets rid of the need to pick over silly details, it also makes me see what really needs changing.

Thank you, I think blue can be many different things including cold, I love to experiment with the different feelings you can get from the colour...

the shading is fantastic! i love the contrast between the pale blue and the dark background.

Thank you, you can't really see it from the photo but the background is made up of several layers of oil, the first layer is a very bright blue and then it gets darker with more layers of blue and brown on top. it's impossible to catch in a photo, but it's one of the reasons i love oils so much.
