Such an honest, beautiful portrait... It reveals a deep person. :rose:

Beautiful. Your style is incredibly likeable, I love the brush strokes that make up her hair. Peaceful, yet dreary at the same time. +fav :)

slightly desaturated colors, and the choice of colors as well still maintain a glitch of serenity as opposed to the overall downcasting atmosphere

loving it

this space behind you...It's sharp. Makes me think how dull my own composition are :)

Yeah, i like to mess with the 'rules' of composition ;) and i enjoy having lots of negitive space on my canvas, it gives space for thought and interpretation. :meditation:

once one knows the rules, one can break them gracefully.

Would it be weird to say that I welled up inside when I saw this peice? My eyes watered and I allmost cried. I wish I knew why. There was just something I saw in it that moved me. Thank you for that.

i love to hear what peoples reactions to my work are, so no, it's not weird at all. thank you.

nice....VERY nice! did you buy all the supplies yourself and did it at home or was it like some kind of art class thing (since i dunno if your in one or not but we do this sort of thing in my art class in school).

how long did it take to make this? :+fav: :D

I usually work on several paintings at the same time so it is always hard to tell, it took me about a month. but with oils you spend a lot of time waiting for a layer to dry before you can work on the next one. so i guess time spent actually working at the canvas was 25 to 30 hours.

Excellent painting. Interesting composition, too. Facing her out the left edge of the painting creates a very unbalanced image, but in this case it works well. She looks like someone who's trying to get out of the frame.
