After Skye had fallen flat in his first Grade 1 race, both Aaron and Jillian were ready to run him back and get him more experience. There were high expectations for him, being the first racer to finally complete training and go out to the track. Duchess had planned on being the first, but her attitude and health conditions had shot that belief down.
There were three races that they planned on entering with the colt before he turned three. The show schedule was already proving to be difficult, but with the number of horses significantly cut down, it was not nearly as difficult as it had been last year. Polaris was training with Annalease and Ashryn for this year's Australian Olympics, the qualifier to be held the next month. Duchess would be going with Ashryn for her first endurance race since she had been in foal with Prince. The two foals, Prince and Voco, were starting to undergo the first bit of training, and Danae was preparing for her first competition as well.
The first race was the Push the Limit Stakes in California, and Skye seemed to know the weight that this race held. He needed to redeem himself for his last race, and would stop at nothing to do so.
