I do like to support fellow artists and i'm happy to know i'm able to inspire artistic creations of any medium.
Therefore you are free to use any of my works for drawings/paintings/illustrations/etc. as a reference.
Permission is not required and i'll be happy to see any of the end results!
HOWEVER, they cannot be used for print/merchandise/commercial, also profit purposes,
in which licensing and written permission would be required; as well as for competitions,
because recreation of someone else work would give a credit only to technic and it would be unfair.
Also in any case you must give a clear CREDIT to me and link back to my website/userpage.
(see the links at the end of the article)
BUT my works are NOT STOCK images. You may not use my works in manipulations or designs, including but not limited to:
book covers, book illustrations, websites, layouts, tubes, wallpapers, banners, blogs, CDs, posters, etc.
I concider it a commercial use. For licensing enquiries please email at firstname.lastname@example.org
Prints bought from the deviantART print store or directly from myself are solely for collection purposes.
Buying prints does not grant you rights or licenses to use and reproduce any of my works.
P.S. Anyway, if you have some special case, just write me a note and we'll see what could be done

and now, show me your favourite photographs of all the time no limits in quantity or time! just send me a link to your journal, if you are like me, too much too post in a comment
First of all don't take personally any stuff i say below. It's my point of view and it's normal if people see the stuff differently.
Makes this world more interesting
Let's start with signature. I sincerely think this kind of stuff should be almost invisible. Like on the painting - one cannot see it on the first side but it's there, when you search for it. If one has a signature, which interferes with the whole composition (and not a part of a composition) as well as takes too much attention, then it's a bad signature. No really, is the main point is to show how cool and big your signature is or to show the art on your picture? And it goes not only for photography - every kind of medium can have this problem.
So, maybe one should make it very small? Or almost invisible? No one will be able to remove it so easily if they cannot easily see it
and it's quite easy to remove, believe me! I did it with my own works!
I have seen so far very few people who does it small, almost invisible, and even less who does it as a part of composition, so this signature enhances the picture (and i admire this people, cos it's very, very complicated and time consuming).
I should admit i hate this ugly dA watermark. I really can't understand why do people use it?
It doesn't allow to see the picture but it also takes the desire to see the picture without it. Why would one submit an art and put this watermark on it so no one will be able to see this art? So what's the point on submitting?
My only harsh words will only be about people's pride. Why do you think your work is so significant so someone will steal it? If such a thing would happen you should be happy! First your work is amazing, second - you can earn plenty of money. Because every work in internet is copyright © protected, unless you say differently.
And there are plenty of photographs (and not only) for free, with free license. So it's very, very unlikely someone takes your photo for commercial use and have all this problems, then one can just get it for free with all the licensing needed or pay very cheep on stock sites.
There still can be plenty of problems with people taking a photo and manipulating it. Like they don't care about licensing, they just want to make some art from your art. But nothing will save your work from this. No watermark or signature, because it's so easily removable in modern editing programs…
The only way is to spot such people and ask them politely not to do it (or at least not to show it in internet, cos no one will see what others do at home ). If it won't help, there are every time some administrators on the site and as the last instance - a court.
But please people, let's to be polite and more open to each other. After all, then one searches names of some famous photographers, artists, etc. there will be no watermark or huge signature on it. And they do earn plenty of money with this art!
If they don't freak out, why would you? After all their fame makes their work even more endangered by manipulations and repostings.
4. there is also an option of using some sites like copyrighted.com but i don't know much about their business model. I've seen some people on dA using it and i guess it might work pretty well.
I think the not many people know about metadata. I do recommend everyone just to google it for their editing program and use it. Put your name, website, license, address, phone number, etc. if you wish so! It's simple and it keeps your rights on much safer level as the watermark or signature
I'm always seeking fresh faces for my personal work. If you're interested in modelling for me, please send me a private message, containing following:
There is no experience or age requirement, but if you're under 18 you must have a parent or legal guardian to sign your model release.
There is no pay from both sides. You will receive images in hi-res when they have been retouched. And I will use the photos for my portfolio.
To the moment, please apply if you are or will be in Berlin. Thank you!
