There was a model posing on a youtube music mix i was listening to. She looked kind of familiar so i did a search for "redhead" on DA. one of the first images i saw was your painting. it looked so much like the model. then i saw you put the models name, it was her! you captured the likeness so well !!!!
This is truly a balanced technical/artistic study. Overall, amazingly don.e
Color transition use between highlighted right to shaded left. Subtle sharpness loss of hair closer to viewer and hair receding. All this done as well in the skin tone of the face.
Proportionality to the facial structure is well done. But to nitpick the left cheek (her right) lacks planar definition in a way I would assume it should have judging by her other cheek structure. It lends the face a slight unreality but... as I said, this is nitpicking.
Slight confusion on the red lighting near her left eye (viewer right)- that sort of radiance is strong and I'm hard pressed to understand how it was justified unless this was from a photograph- regardless, given the lighting cues for this image, it is a strong highlight that doesn't read right, IMO. I see the golden highlight, but even it that red is filtered through her hair, should it be red?
Her hair pulled over her right ear (viewer left) needs a little more anchor in reality for viewer to accept it like that- seems like a pin is holding it back for it to be weighted the way it is- however a visual justification or slight reshape would help.
Amazing texture to her hair, especially as it comes over her shoulder- can almost feel it.
It's flat out an amazing work, and had I commissioned this as a portrait of my loved one, I would be nothing but satisfied!
