If you missed it, this was my small piece for Thanksgiving~
It's really just days left for me now! I have about 10 days remaining before my scheduled c-section to get this baby out! Aahhh! I'm excited, nervous, and relieved that it's almost over. This last week has been something else. Goodness! So on Friday night I noticed I was getting a migraine. It wasn't too bad on Saturday, but it wasn't responding to the regular tylenol (acetaminophen) like it usually does. And then on Sunday I was feeling really awful. I could tell my blood pressure was going up with the migraine getting worse, so we went to the hospital. They did a bunch of blood work to see if anything was wrong and of course monitored me and baby for a few hours. My blood pressure was all over the place, being too high, then getting too low, before going back to normal. It was really weird. o.O Then they sent me home and I of course was very disappointed since at 37 weeks baby is technically considered full term!
Then on Monday, I was even worse. Tylenol and caffeine together wasn't enough to break the migraine, so we went in again. :/ They gave me a stronger medicine, percocet, which also did nothing. Tuesday I woke up crying because it was so bad! We went in first thing before our kids were awake, thankfully family is nearby so they could come over and we left quickly! I was there half the day with them taking more blood to the lab, monitoring me and baby etc. I received a morphine shot in the rear (do not want) and even that didn't cut it!! What the heck, right?? My doctor was concerned at that point so they ordered an MRI. Being in that machine kinda sucked lol! It was very loud which of course didn't help the migraine. They found nothing was wrong and my brain is perfect, lol! But they were pretty stumped about the pain I was having because all of the lab-work came back normal. They did find a UTI, so I was given antibiotics for that and then a prescription pain medicine for the migraine. I was told that if the medicine didn't help, then I'd have to go in again to try something else. So of course, Wednesday (yesterday) I spent the day resting and waiting to see if the medicine would do it, but it didn't. I went in again and they gave me 3 different medicines through an IV and together it actually worked! ..for the most part anyway. But it's manageable now and I just have to take the medicine as soon as I feel the migraine coming back. So we'll see how long that lasts. It sounds like it's really just because I'm pregnant and so far along. It won't totally go away until the baby is born, so I'm hoping I can at least manage the pain until Dec. 7, or sooner if I go into true labor or something lol!
Anyway, so that was my week.
