Artfight is over! I managed to draw 30 pieces of art total, just like I did 30 last year ^^ I'm happy with the art I've been able to do this year, though I wish I could've drawn more! I had so many ideas and tons of OCs bookmarked ;v;
I'll be working on posting everything and getting back to my Poppy Playtime brainrot XD
Hope everyone is doing okay with the heat waves lately! Stay hydrated 💕

Description
Faheem often shows his love for his wife in small, but meaningful ways. Other times he is very obvious, but passionate. In "A Master's Requiem" (AMR), Faheem at times lets his feelings show by accident while using magic to bend his tea into different shapes. In this moment, which would've been after they married, Faheem is showing off...just a little bit

I have a lot of feelings about this piece. It's hard to know where to start. Other than my closest friends, longtime watchers of course might recognize I've done something like this before. The original, I put away in storage a few years back. I won't go into all the details of it, but I'll try to briefly explain why redoing this piece means so much ;o;
At the start of January 2016, my newborn son was having seizures. He was in and out of the hospital, but one of the more traumatic hospital stays he had back then was a two-week long stay in February 2016, which I went into detail on a journal that I've kept up still. The original version of this painting was done during that hospital stay, and it featured Faheem with a different character. During this time, I had old friends I knew since childhood, completely abandon me. I was told on FB, my son's experiences were too sad and scary, and they couldn't handle seeing it. So I was unfriended and ghosted by them. And after finishing the original painting, I never heard from a couple of online friends again as well. It was emotionally traumatic, medically traumatic, and in the years since it became too painful to look at the old painting. So I put it away.
5 years later, I finally found the resolve to approach it again, and recreated it to feature Faheem and Yldae ;v; Every time I worked on this I cried, but every time I worked on it, I wasn't alone. My best friends kept me company while I streamed this privately, and gave me the time I needed to just talk about the feelings I buried 5 years ago. It's been a healing experience, and while I'm not 100% over what happened back then, I'm at least in a better place now ;o; Many, many thanks to Camara-san, Webmegami, CressLuna and Snowfleet for being there for me ;v; Whether it was hours spent on stream, or feedback via text, I was able to get through this process because of you all ;v;
Otherwise, I'm so thankful as well for my husband CaterBug, for every time he'd hug me and listen while I cried through this process as well ;v; I was never truly alone this time, unlike 5 years ago. And my son has been seizure free for near 3 years now, so he was nearby while I worked on this, just happy and well ;o;

Faheem and Yldae mean so much to me, and this painting recreation is in a way, a culmination of how my friendship with Camara-san developed ;v; She and I started talking about a story with my Otheno and her Ylith around this time 5 years ago, and for every hospital stay and medical event either my son or myself had since, she was there for me every single time. We never planned to pair Faheem and Yldae, but the two naturally came together on their own and became our main ship and muse ;v; Words honestly cannot describe how much they mean to me. Camara, I say this a lot, but you really are a sister to me ;v; Thank you for always being there ;v;

I'm super late to comment as usual but... I really love how sweet and caring this picture is. 😊
You can feel the love and the cozy situation in there, and it's so lovely.
Faheem and Yldae look so calm and relaxed. You also did a fantastic work on the painting and on the effects, the final result truly is stunning! ✨
Also, thank you for the mention. It's always a pleasure talking and playing/drawing together.
