I stare into the void within, Seething. Say my F*cking name! I scream. She’s not dead yet! Give her back, Her creativity, Her drive, Her essence. ALL OF IT. Even the memories that used to destroy her. I need them. I want to be whole. I want to FEEL. I don’t want to give up who I’ve become. So SAY MY NAME. Don’t throw me away. Don’t let her die. I've remade the same burr oak nine thousand ways; the eyes, the glass whichever holds it steadiest will stand for all I think is real. But am I seen, am I known, are there words . . .? Imagine that I lay with you, photons drowning on your lips. Can I touch them, anyway?

Pluck any of my strings till you find one that sings to you - something dark throated and uneven, spilling song like the jewelled thrush upon my sill. Ponder its strange weight, the terrible beauty of its voice; the way it winds inside you and pulls you close like skin shuttering out the light. And then let it resonate taut and tight against your ears - each note a raw hope that hides tomorrow and keeps you runningfrom the light.

I watched the taste of Shangri-La bring strong men to their knees and felt the wasting warm grow thick like sylphs among the trees. A languid poison, rich and sweet filled each and every glass it kissed their lips with want and left its bruise upon the grass.It moved like lovers, so wanton soft in heavy, tangled sighs and held them willing prisoners betrayed with whispered lies.
