✂ Bio: Long ago, somewhere in the 18 century, there was an lady named Aya, who turned her house into a toy store and started making dolls, just like her mother taught her.
After years of good work, suddently sales dropped to somewhere Aya couldn't even pay her rent. She thought that maybe people wanted something new, so she innovated and started creating different dolls. Dolls with different clothing instead of just wearing kimonos,different haistyles and haircolors, and her business increased again. Time passed and she noticed this doll that nobody wanted. She wasn't pretty, but she wasn't that ugly. So, in an attempt to make her prettier, she started drawing other faces on her, hoping she would be sold.
Although she made her new faces, children would still pass by and call her ugly, "Poor doll..." she though.
Trying to improve her appearence, she made her a new hair cut, and while doing it, she tryed to comfort the doll, like she was her child, telling her she was beautiful and that she looked like her mother, Hanako. Then she sang her a beautiful traditional melody while brushing her hair, Ayas voice sounded like an angel sings.
All the effort was in vain, people didn't seem to like that doll. So one day, after selling all stock, and seeing the doll sitting by herself in the shelf, she yelled : "Hanako-san!" and came to get her. After holding Hanako, she saw the ink she used to draw her face melting down, like she was crying, and after cleaning her tear Aya said: " You know why you're still here? Because you're my doll. You are beautiful just as you are, no need to change it. I'll show people how valuable you are and put you on a place where everyone can see you're beautiful face." and smiled.
From that day on all girls wanted to buy the doll in the center of the showcase, and why is that? Only Aya knows.
Moms would ask Aya to sell Hanako for lots of cash, but she always refused wich lead them to ask her if she could do replicas.And she did. But none was the same. She would always make something different, so each doll would be unique. Years later, a seer came to town telling people the war was comming, telling them to run and save themselves.
The old lady (Aya) didn't bothered because she wasn't a believer so she did nothing, but people around her did.
Day by day, clients were decreasing, and since the store was bought by her mother, she still had to pay her mothers loan. So this gave her no choice but to give up. She was a old lady now, it was not like the old times. She gave her toy store away including all her dolls inside to pay the loan.
The next day, the men who came didn't let her keep any doll to herself. She was in so much pain, she had to step out of the store. Aya kept watching the men from the outside, so did the old customers.
Inside the boxes all dolls were whispering to each other and asking if they were sold, but Hanako knew that this wasn't normal, indeed she was the oldest doll of all.
She shushed everyone so she could ear the happenings outside.Suddenly she heard the old woman arguing with the guy carrying the box they were in. Aya was asking him if she could take one doll that she had since she was a young woman and to wich she was emotionaly attached. The man replied that he was sorry and that he couldn't allow her to do that and that he was just following orders. But Aya didn't give up and tryed to pull the box from him and he pushed back, she couldn't hold it anymore and fell on the floor.
People watching came to help her and started cursing the young man who was moving away. Aya stood up and screamed: "You will always be beautiful to me, don't ever forget about that!" and smiled while tears ran down her face.
Hanako knew that this was about her and started crying in silence.
After years of being inside boxes she escaped and searched for the old Aya just to find that she died a year after giving the store.
She lost hope and wandered around for years.
