Hee hee! Sorry to break it to you kiddo but that's not a mustache you're growing.
When I was younger, about eighth grade, I used to think that eastern dragon's whiskers were mustaches. Because of that I used to refer to them as "Mustached dragons". I guess you can say that was part of the inspiration behind this piece.
This is also my first time trying to make a background using Photoshop. Sorry if it looks kinda plain.
