The Cartooniest Network on TV

Description

The name sure lives up to its reputation.

30 years ago on this day, Cartoon Network was launched onto our TVs. This station had one goal in mind: to be a hub for nothing but cartoons. As promised, the station provided viewers with all of the classic cartoons like Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, and anything else that was either in the Warner Bros. library or created by Hanna-Barbera. It wouldn't be until 1996 when the channel decided to premiere its first long-lasting show with Dexter's Laboratory, and from then on, more and more shows would make themselves at home on the channel that would solidify the identity of Cartoon Network.

When it comes to my experiences with Cartoon Network, I will go as far and say that this is my favorite channel of all-time, as I not only grew up on a lot of the shows they aired, but they would hold a special place in me as some of my favorite shows of all-time. In fact, Cartoon Network is the home to my favorite show of all-time, Ed, Edd n Eddy. However, one thing that concerns me about Cartoon Network is regarding it's possible fate in the future. If you don't remember, August 2022 was the month us Cartoon Network fans were suffering from the hands of David Zaslav, the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, when he announced that certain shows would be removed from streaming (and even digital purchase) in order to help the company get out of its debt. However, this act turned out to be much worse that we could've ever imagined, as the creators of those cut shows were never informed ahead of time, and their removal was treated as a "tax cut" because the company didn't want to deal with the troubles of actually paying the people who made the show. In a sudden twist of karma, because of these removals, people stopped their HBO Max subscriptions, and the debt sitation just got even worse for them. To make the karma even worse, WBD has been sued for their mishandling of things because of how much it hurt everyone involved. Hopefully, there will be justice for everyone whose shows were unfairly kicked.

I don't have much to say about the artwork, but let's just say that this required a lot of sketching and layering . Hope you like my dedication to Cartoon Network, and here's to what they have in store for the future.
