The competition has now come to a close with some stunning results. We are very grateful for all the competitors and have taken time to consider each one. Now, enough with the waffling, here is the podium for AnimalsAndScenery's first competition!:
In THIRD place, winning 30 points is RadiatingCalm with their submission!
A beautiful concept with great detail. Your ability to maintain the rough look whilst keeping the detail and proportions of the eye are something of great skill. We love the way the scenery is the reflection in the eye, it makes it a very intricate connection between Animals and their Scenery. Thank you, truly, for your submission.
In SECOND place, winning 50 points is Linda-S-Leon with their submission!
A very smart, professional looking piece; with its clean lines and well integrated, colourful outlook; it is certainly a satisfying and exquisite piece to look at and observe. Our favourite part is the integration of the various background colours into the title, this makes it much more interesting to look at instead of straight coloured text; Lovely. We also like the use of a city with plant life, something not really seen here in the group. the detail within the piece takes it to another level as it is not just the detail in the basic lines, but in the choice of colour. Thank you, truly, for your submission.
And finally: In FIRST place, winning 120 points and our choice of icon, is PeachtreeDandan with their submission!
An extremely professional and detailed piece; you can almost feel the depth of the fox's fur, the bark of the tree and the wood behind, each more dramatic than the last. The use of the foreground and simple grasses really give the effect of the only light in the forest is on that fox. The use of the stippled light particles brings the realism up, again, to a new level. The choice of colour is fantastic, making use of the whole palate to make sure the light shines correctly and the dark shades just right. Thank you, truly, for your submission.
So, that is that then. Thank you for all submissions! Each competitor, whether you have got a prize or not, will be noted and any prize sent through by Saturday.
*EDIT* all prizes and notes should have been sent through. Please et us know should you think a prize is due but has not come through.
We cannot quite stress how much it means to us to run our first competition and have the turn out be this high quality. Every piece was stunning, making the decision a little more demanding. Honestly, it is a great honour to be amongst such graceful and skilful artists, in all their forms. THANK YOU ALL -Imogen and Elena!
