Welcome to AnimalFrenzy, the sister group of Photographic-Animals! This is a club for any animal lover, of any skill level. We strive to help our members by exposing them to the art community and giving constructive critiques. This club is for anyone, whether you are an amateur or a professional, all degrees of work are accepted into our community! Our only rule is to have fun, meet some new friends, and get some constructive critiques on your work. Please be sure to read the following entry very carefully, as it contains criteria for what is and is not acceptable in this group, along with other general information. --------------------------------------- Joining Who is allowed to join Animal Frenzy? Everyone! Whether you want to submit work on a regular basis, or just enjoy the work that is accepted here, everyone is welcome. You can join by going to the top of the page and clicking the button that says "Join Group". All submissions are auto accepted, so you can start submitting your work right after you click the “join” button. We would love it if you helped spreading the word about AnimalFrenzy by adding our name into your signature or on a journal, or adding the groups widget to your profile. It would be most appreciated. ---------------------------------------- Submission I want to submit, how can I do that? It’s simple! Go to the deviation that you want to submit, click "submit to group" on the right hand side, and click on Animal Frenzy. Please be sure to submit your work to the correct folder. If you don't, we may tell you to withdraw your work and resubmit it to the right place, however, there is no guarantee on this. You may notice that we have a folder called "I Don't Pay Attention To Where I Submit". This was created as a joke because people were constantly submitting their work to "amphibians". If you do not change the folder that you're submitting your work to, it will automatically be sent there, and it will be declined. Each member is allowed to submit a maximum of three deviations per week. This is subject to change every once in awhile, and members will be notified by a blog entry. --------------------------------- Quality Control What kind of work is accepted here, and what quality of work are you looking for? We accept almost all forms of art here. What we don’t accept is works of literature, anthro art (animals with human forms), mixed species (nothing like a dog/bird/snake mix), fantasy animals, and animals that appear overly cartoonish. We like for submissions to have a certain amount of realism. Be sure that the work that you submit is your best quality, because we will decline submissions that don’t meet our standards. While we do accept submissions from artists of all levels, this does NOT mean that we don’t have quality standards. Here’s a list of do’s and don’ts:  No selective coloring. Photos MUST be in focus! If it has any blur, it must be done with some artistic quality to it.Pictures must have some sort of artistic quality to it, meaning be aware of your composition and cropping. Keep in mind the rule of thirds!Animals must be clearly visible, too much background makes for a distracting picture. We also shouldn’t have to search the picture for the animal.No humans as the main focus or equal focus with the animal. This means no pictures or drawings of you hugging your pet or someone riding horseback. We feel as if it distracts from the animal, who should be the main focus of the picture.No caged animals! There is an exception to this rule, being that it must be artistically done, and that is decided by the admins.Please, no dead animals, unless its an animal feeding on its prey.Flash is really distracting in most pictures, and most deviations with obvious flash will get rejected.Beware of the noise! Noisy photos will be rejected, as well as photos with over/underexposure. Overly contrasted/hued photos will also be rejected. Contrast can be your friend, but in moderation.Works with distracting watermarks, ESPECIALLY the deviantArt watermark will be declined. We understand the want and need for watermarks, but please, make sure that they’re not plastered directly over the face of the animal. If they are, it needs to be transparent enough that it’s barely noticeable and not overly distracting.If your submission is a traditional piece, you must have some basic knowledge of anatomy. Please, don’t submit two variations of the same piece. This means a black and white and color version of a photo, or a sketch and a colored version of the drawing. Please only choose one to submit (if it’s a drawing, I would suggest submitting the fully colored version).We get a lot of generic shots of domestic animals. Work that is just an ordinary snapshot will not be tolerated. This is an artistic group, not a snapshot group. Make your work pop out from the rest. We want to see work that wows us.Please don't feel discouraged from submitting if you do get declined. We would love to have your work, so just try again with another submission. Please do not ask on our front page why something was declined, as we get a lot of submissions daily, and the chance we will remember yours is slim. Instead, comment on the log itself. This does not guarantee an answer, but one of the contributors might give you a critique. ------------------------------- Featured Folder Regular group members do not have the ability to submit work to the featured folder. Only contributors can do this. The other contributors and myself keep an eye out for works that we find to be the best of the best, and we will submit them there. Previously, there was a "feature me please!" folder that you could submit to each month. We have not been keeping up with this, however, I will speak with my fellow contributors about starting this again. If we do, you all will be notified with a journal entry. ------------------------------------------------- Other questions I would love to be a bigger part of the club, how can I become a contributor? We are currently in need of a few more contributors. If you are interested, please send me (wolfywox) a note saying how often you will be available to vote, what you could bring to the group, ect. I would love to affiliate, how can I do this? Please send in a request, much the same way that you would do with group submissions. I have an idea for a contest that I think you may like. May I share it with you? Of course! Feel free to leave a message about any contest ideas, or any ideas for that matter, that you may have. Just a reminder for you guys about the newest folder "multiple species". We made this folder because we sometimes get submissions that have more than one type of animal in it. For example, maybe a dog and a cat cuddling, or a lion chasing it's prey. This folder IS NOT for fantasy creatures that are a mixture of several types of animals. Again, please read the updated FAQ and group rules. Fantasy creatures are not accepted, and will be declined.
On another note, we are still looking for more contributors. If anyone is interested, please send me a note.
