Animal Behavior

:groups: Joining the Group :groups:

Anyone can join the group, as long as they have an interest in animal behavior!

:bulletgreen:Submission Guidelines:bulletgreen:

Allowed
:bulletblue: All extant and extinct species are allowed. No fantasy creatures. :bulletblue: Illustrations, photographs, animations.
Note:Illustrations must be of reasonable quality in both rendering and scanning.

Submission Process
:bulletblue: Select the correct functional category folder for your work.
:bulletyellow: Behavior List :bulletyellow: If you feel your work belongs in more than one functional category then choose the place where it best fits.
:bulletblue: If a work is appropriate for the category in which it has been placed then it will be approved. Work that has more than one functional category will then be copied into additional folders by the admin.
:bulletyellow: Pieces that are in the wrong category, don't demonstrate a functional behavior well, or are poorly rendered may be rejected. :bulletyellow: Portraits and images of an animal simply "being" are likely to be rejected. This is not a general animal photography/illustration community! :bulletyellow: Pieces with questionable behavior that don't have an explanation will likely be rejected for being unclear. :bulletyellow: All rejected pieces will likely be rejected without explanation.

:bulletgreen:Use and Permissions:bulletgreen:

All artists who have submitted works here will be asked if their works can be used for educational purposes, non-commercially and not-for-profit.
:bulletblue:Artists who have consented to the use of their works can be found here.

:target: Goal :target:

The goal of this group is to provide a catalog of visual works that depict functional animal behavior. The hope is that these works can educate as well as be used in educational presentations.
AnimalBehavior is back in action!  Please see the home page for the new submission guidelines.

:bulletblue: If you have work in this gallery PLEASE let me know if I can add you to the permissions list as either a YES the public can use your works for educational purposes, or NO the public may not use your works for educational purposes.

:bulletblue: I'm tinkering with the idea of only allowing contributors to submit works to the gallery.  I figure this would control for spam and I can ask for permissions (yes or no) on the contributor application.  A drawback would be that I like to "submit works" from other people as I find them, which may not even be members!  Any opinions on this? Things seem to be okay for now.  There is a global limit of 3 submissions per week.

Hope you all enjoy Animal Behavior 2.0 and I will be working out tweaks as we go along.

Thanks!

Would my coloured graphite drawing make a chance to get into the gallery (Nutrient acquisition)? [link]
You say 'reasonable quality', but graphite pencils will always be a bit messy and I don't like to oversaturate or change the contrast too badly.

I'd like to have your honest opinion =)
