History
The Deveraux estate was established by the Deveraux family, also known as the House of Blackbird, in 1878, and has been the family's home for over a century. The Deverauxs were quick to introduce equestrian activities to their property, using the forest and grassland surrounding the place for hunting on horseback, but the Black Crest Equestrian Center would not come to be for over a century later. Lawrence Deveraux shifted the family’s focus to equestrian sport in 1985, and would name his new equestrian center after the property’s pond. Black Crest would grow, beginning to board and train horses and compete in competitions around the world.
