I grew up consuming Belgian/French comics along with old american cartoons. When learning how to draw, I would take these as reference, borrowing parts of their style and eventually develop my own. That's how a style is formed, by stealing from as many sources as you can until it forms something relatively new.
I don't know if this helps, but major stylistic influences for me were Uderzo, Franquin, Morris and more recently Jacques Tardi. Also countless cartoons from the rubberhose animation era such as Popeye and early Mickey Mouse.
