Shadows In My Head

They like to run the show sometimes. They eat my soul and steal my sense of stability.
Sometimes they come out just to burn the world around me while I cry for it all to end.
While I relapse in the corner of my room. As they tell me what I need and deserve.
They talk in tongues and whispers about who I am while at the same time keeping me clueless.
Choking on the venom of their words in my head they chose me for a reason.
Demons linger for a purpose of sucking me dry of any sort of contentment. 
They look like me, they sound like me, they're good at acting like me.
But I say nothing in the backroom filled with an oozing darkness.
It's a scary place I don't like to go in. But I am their pawn, their favorite toy to play with.
I've accepted the course they have chosen for me.
I don't know how to live life but they will do it for me.
