The way you always pet my head
when I hug you, but inside,
No matter what, my heart is dead.
I want to tell you, to let you know,
My fears and most importantly dreams
That I have of you and I, but alas,
What if reality isn't as it seems?
My disconcerting past has changed me, fantasies
Never enough to heal my aching heart
