Really excited about Brave atm! Love the setting, characters so far, art, just loving it all!! <3

American trailers I like so far

And the Japanese trailer which I honestly think does a much better job at portraying the movie as the serious movie it is. And considering nearly all Pixar trailers in America are portrayed as humorous, I'd say it's likely that Brave will be more serious than how the American trailers show it.

Buuuut anyways!
Had an absolute blast with the hair! Which is one of the reasons why I desperately wanted to draw this! Plus I'm loving Merida so far! She seems like an awesome princess. And FINALLY we got a ginger princess! A reason to draw a ginger!! <3

First of all, I'm rather cross that I didn't get in to suggest this for a DD, 'cos I totally would have. Ok, then. Shall we go on?

I adore her hair, the highlights, lowlights and tangles that I have no envyof. Merida's eyes are beautiful, they seem to hold every secret in the movie. It's like she's a spirit cheira ( shay-rah). Sometimes happy and bouncy, sometimes distant and ysterious, sometimes a teenage girl.

The art itself is amazing, although there is something slightly off about the lips. I can't put my finger on it, but they seem kind of disconnected, like they've been stuck on.

The background is awe-inspiring, with simple highlights and pretty little willow o wisps. The shading is simple and elegant, and a very good example of...shading.

I must say I love it on how you paid attention to every single details I'm rather impressed since I've never seen such style and the way you made it exactly like merida ! You are one of those people who are very talented at those types of drawing styles. I've been looking for so long for a picture like this to add to my collection! And there it is, right in front of me! plus the woods background Ah! I have to admit I kept on staring at it for almost thirty minutes and all those little blue lights! ah the expression on her face looks so pixar made I could just scream!

Stupendous art work my dear! It is the best art work I have seen, yet. Please keep on with your art work. I can vision you as a young Pablo Picasso!
Firstly, I would like to start off with the hair. It is very well put together, and really plays with the characters personality. You can tell by looking at her hair that she is a spirited person! I love how her hair flows, and represents a fire, as I would like to put it.
Secondly, I love the back round, and it was a smart idea to blend and blur it, because it focuses only on the girl, and not just the back round. So, when you look at the art, the first thing you will see, if Merida, not the back round. Which is perfect, because that is what you want it too!
Lastly, I think Merida's face blends too much with the hair, and I think the ginger hair, reflects too much on her face. But it still looks wonderful.
I love this piece so much! Keep up the good work.

A superb rendition of Merida from Brace, which not only is of high quality, but is also rather faithful to the original material.

The detail on her face is clear, right down to every freckle, shadow and part of her face. The eyes and brows are superb, very well done and expressive. The wavy hair is great, the color and flow work as intended, although the additional parts do contrast a little much with Merida's face.

The background compliments her well, especially with those lights amongst the foliage.

Overall, the piece is of great quality and despite some minor issues I must say it is very well done. Keep up the great work AngelLust

WOW! This piece is fantastic ... the contrast of the colors from light to dark ... The intense color choices as well really gives that taste of the movie ... the eyes just POP!! ... even the background leaves a perfect setting to this stunning portrait. Not to mention subtly pulling elements from the movie ... really capturing her environment.

You definitely captured her spirit and personality in this piece. Overall a fabulous composition and portrayal of this wild rebellious lady!

Honestly, my favorite part is the subtle water right behind here that helps the viewers eyes to not get stuck on those mesmerizing eyes but moves the eyes through the composition. A+++

This is an absolutely incredible piece of work.I find it almost crazy that a simple computer could have made this, and not your own hands stroking the screen.I also love the way her red hair fills up the art, i am a ginger as well and i think that GINGER DO HAVE SOULS! Especially this one, the title of the movie is Brave and you really gotta have a soul to feel she's going through.I am really happy that someone finally fully captured the light of the true meaning of this movie(er,girl.)
Very nice job,and i hope you keep on creating work like this one!

This is an amazing piece of work! I almost thought this was a direct poster from Pixar themselves. The effort you've put through this was simply amazing! How you did Merida was awesome! Everything in this was simply breathtaking. This was very original and the vision, technique and impact you put was outstanding. I'm going to add this to my favorites and adding you to my favorites. Because this is and I repeat again, amazing! Well done! I look forward to see more from you. And...I've run out of things to say, darn it. Uh...Congrats again! You deserved it!

This piece is absolutely stunning. The depth and emotion in her eyes are the highlight of this artwork. The hair has beautiful colours and I like how you have given different thickness to different strands of her untamed hair which portrays the personality of this rebellious princess. I think the white behind the hair doesn't look as effective as the rest of the hair as there is not enough light in this scene to give it such a bright shade.
Her face is gorgeous and the colours have once again been chosen well. It is good that you haven't tried to make her face too realistic or too cartoony.
Overall it is one of the best Merida portraits around and definitely going on my Favourites! Good job and I'll be WATCHing you.
