I remember looking up the time line for my own nefarious purposes. From what I deduced from the books ad the Lexicon ([link]) here it is:
Harry was born July 31, 1980.
Ron: March 1, 1980.
Hermione: September 19, 1979.
Voldemort falls Halloween 1981.
The Marauders were all born in the 60s, Lucius Malfoy in 1954.
That makes Hermione about a week older than me, which for some reason, bugs the snot out of me. But it also means Harry and Co. are my age, which today makes them all about to turn thirty. Scary, huh?
I consider myself to have "grown up" in the 80s wherein I was a kid and survived on awesome Saturday morning cartoons and sugary cereal. The 90s was full of what would be Harry's Hogwarts years.
