Retrospective

Retrospective

Eleven years ago, I joined deviantArt. There was no Facebook, no MySpace. LiveJournal was relatively young. I was still living in New Zealand and newly dropped out of art school. Today, over a decade later, deviantArt has evolved tremendously. The interface is much slicker, and it's friendlier to social interaction. But for all of that, it seems like it's become much less of a destination. The forums which once were updated more than once a second are now updated once every hour or two. For me, the days leading up to Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's are some of the best of the year. At no other time of the year is so much time given over to thinking about, preparing for, and enjoying a holiday. While those two months aren't exactly a vacation, they're certainly a period of time where gratitude and happiness are at

Unfortunately, I'm too busy to take on any new projects right now. Thanks for the offer, though.
