A lot of people send me questions about experiencing 'Art Block'. It's something that I deal with all the time. Am I good enough? Is what I'm painting actually worth it? Should I keep going? Those questions bombard the mind of every artist✒️

There's a lot of advice out there that says you need to try to be more creative. Watch more movies, read more books, get more inspiration, more more more. I've been thru all of that and it never really helped. With time, I've developed a different philosophy for myself. It's something that I've never heard about before and it's actually about doing less🌟

That may sound silly but I feel like as artists, we put way too much pressure on ourselves and that can affect not only our art minds but also our creative spirits. How are you supposed to sit down and paint something if your mind is being crushed by the weight of fake expectations?🤔

I talk about this and more in my new vlog. I must warn you, it's not the typical mainstream advice doe. I also act like an idiot for 8 minutes and do dick jokes, but that's a given..😂😂 Watch it below

Yeah man, the greatest thing I do for my creativity is not think about being creative.

advice that I heard:
Give yourself a break
don't draw at all, don't think about being creative
week, month - take your time
if by the end of your break you thrilled to go back and draw draw draw - art is your thing
but if you scared and depressed to go back - mb you need to try new things, new hobby

Training can also help inspire and energise. Not always appropriate but remember you can GIVE training as well as receive it. Running a workshop for some friends can be fun too.

Being a number of years up on most Deviants, I pretty much have my art inspiration balanced with everything else. Work, home duties, meeting up with my gf, whatever else comes my way.

When I DO get that random idea, I try to hang on to it as much as possible until I'm able to get to my laptop. At this point, y'all better stand back. 😛

This is actually very sound advice. Sometimes you just have to back away from what you're doing and either take a break or try something completely different to get your creativity flowing again. Thank you for sharing ^_^
