You may have noticed I posted 2 character templates, with there being a small difference between the two.
The Good

Notice the shield in the 'Fight Class' section.
The Bad

And here we have a badass looking skull.
The Difference
What all this means is...death matches are back!
However! You cannot simply kill anyone. If you DO NOT want your character to be killed or to enter in any death matches, place your character on the 'good' template with the shield. This means your character is not allowed to inflict or take any brutal, sick, sadistic blows, have limbs ripped off etc. Basically, anything too violent and Mortal Kombat-esque must be avoided with these characters.
The characters who DO want to kill and are happy for their OC to be killed, please use the 'bad' template. However, a deathmatch only takes place when 2 fighters with the 'bad' template are fighting each other. Otherwise, it is simply a normal fight like in previous AFL tournaments. Under no circumstances can a 'bad' character kill a 'good' character. If so, they will automatically lose the fight. They will have 3 strikes, and then be disqualified from the tournament.
Good Vs Good = Normal Fight
Good Vs Bad = Normal Fight
Bad Vs Good = Normal fight
Bad Vs Bad = Death Match!
'Bad' characters do not have to kill other 'bad' characters in every one of their fights, it is just another option. With future fights, the random generator will be tinkered with to try and pair more 'bad' fighters against each other, and likewise 'good' characters against one another where possible, but this will not always be a guarantee.
The Rest of the Template Explained
The rest of the template is pretty straight forward.
Name - Character Name/Alias
Height - In feet and inches (e.g. 5' 11")
Weight - In pounds (e.g. 200 lbs)
Age - Character age, duh. Human/Earth years
Alignment - Is your character Good? Evil? Neutral?
Fight Class - As explained above. For death match purposes, the skull means a fighter is open to death matches, a shield means the character is protected from them.
Powers/Abilities - List any powers and abilities for reference
I thought with the 'alignment' tab, much like the 'fight class', fights could be paired up in favour of getting a good vs evil match up. However, this will only be where available and is not guaranteed to happen throughout the tournament, it depends on what fighters are available at the time.
Any extra details, references, links, costume pictures can be added to the artist comments section if you wish.
To enter AFL, you MUST fill out a character template. It is part one of your application. Only 2 more steps to go, to be revealed soon.
