Thoughts on 2013
I love doing one of these at the end of every year.  It really puts into perspective what my sense of progress is.  It seems like all I did this year was thumbnail sketching, though that's not necessarily a bad thing, as I've been trying to plan my images more thoughtfully.  Though I'm not going to lie, either. This year sucked.  I've had my fill of tragedy and health issues and I'm happy to see it come to a close.  I'm glad, at least, to see that the art that I did manage to finish has been some of the best stuff yet!  Just wish I had finished more, but alas!  That's what 2014 will be for.

Some highlights of my year include attending things like IlluXcon, which has inspired me since, and finishing Kushiel's Dart, which I think is the best piece I've done since Archangel Uriel!

Onwards to 2014!
I had a Portfolio Strategy Guide that I wrote for myself this past year and it was all but abandoned in the chaos.  I plan to get right back to that strategy in 2014 and take all the helpful critique I received from the pros at IlluXCon to heart.  I am going to keep pushing and pushing myself till the art breaks and becomes something new and exciting!  I'm continuing my goals from last year to create more narrative art, particularly in the book cover and character portrait vein.

Thanks!  It never feels like progress when I'm working on each individual thing, but then once I put it all together at the end of the year, it makes me feel a little better about it all.:)
