Monster Party commission by angelacapel Monster Party commission by angelacapel
Probably should wait to upload this, but I wouldn't have time later so I'll just go an do it now. Sending this to David tomorrow though!

This is a commission for my friend David. He asked me to draw a 'Monster Party' and told me to just go with my imagination.

We've got Monster, who is 6 this year and Chupacabra and Yeti playing cards (Chupy has a few to many fingers though. Chupys are supposed to have only three... and people have told me Yeti should be white, but really, I believe he's red since the scull cap that those monks have has red hair like this). I also included Muno and Brobee, since my daughter loves those monsters and there's naturally a Hooters girl serving wings at M-zar's party, since that's how he rolls. Oh! And there's Weight Watcher's 'Hungry' monster too. :)

I really loved doing this one, but it took ages and ages to do with all the bright colours. It's watercolour and micron pens. Lalala!

There are so many wonderful details to talk about here, Angela. It's a riot of color, and just a riot in general. Momo seems a little overwhelmed by it all, but Monster appears ready to share tea with the Hooters girl. As for the coloring of the Yeti...don't worry about it, obviously.

Thank you for doing this. :)

Your welcome. :) I was happy to do it. I learnt a bit more about my watercolours too. It was a great experience.

This piece turned out to be too big for my envelopes! I even liked it so much that I made myself a copy at Staples.

I am thrilled that you got a lot out of this piece, and you have a fine painting to show for it, too.

I usually make copies of my stuff at Staples before mailing the original, just in case something goes wrong in the mail. That way, the image is not lost and maybe I can do it over. :)

I actually like the copy more than the original for some reason. The colours look cleaner or something or a slightly different tone.

Sometimes color copiers can add a sheen to the finished product; you may see another example of same when you receive your Christmas present. ;)
