This is also my first attempt at sculpting a creature of my own design. I wanted to incorporate the traditional hell hound look with some rigid boney and reptilian structures. I'll probably end up painting this.

Chavant is much more sturdy, pliable, easy to work with - takes forever to dry out but you'd have to either mold it and make a stone copy or spray the sculpture with crystal clear. If you spray it, it will eventually corrode from the inside out and get destroyed.
I like Chavant the best but I always mold the sculpture.
