Hell Hound Sculpture

By Anesthetic-X

This is my rendition of a hell hound in Chavant clay.

This is also my first attempt at sculpting a creature of my own design. I wanted to incorporate the traditional hell hound look with some rigid boney and reptilian structures. I'll probably end up painting this.

*Update: He is now painted! Check out the rest of my gallery to see how it turned out :D

This was my first creature sculpture, I had no mold making skills at the time so yes, I did. He's held up for over a year now though, amazing! But I wouldnt do it again - paint Chavant that is.

Awesome!!, I am actually working in a hellhound 2d concept but this makes me wanna sculpt one too,
just a question is chavant better than super sculpey????

It depends, Super Sculpey dries out but will last when you bake it. Be cautious not to have any thin spots while baking or it will crack. After words its set in stone forever.

Chavant is much more sturdy, pliable, easy to work with - takes forever to dry out but you'd have to either mold it and make a stone copy or spray the sculpture with crystal clear. If you spray it, it will eventually corrode from the inside out and get destroyed.

I like Chavant the best but I always mold the sculpture.
