Okay, this is pretty much the first thing I have done with my account in months, (because AP Gov is a monster)
but this is my weird version of a public service announcement. Now on with the feelsy ranting and praising.
Rise Of The guardians is one of or is my favorite animated movies of all time period. This is also taking into account all other animation mediums, because lets face it 2-D is what birthed CGI. But all things considered, I loved it. Sure I enjoyed Brave but it just did not hold the emotional power that this film did. And if you have stuck around for this long I implore that you stay for the actual purpose of this Journal.
Ohhhhh my goodness was this film Gorgeous. I have seen it twice (hopefully for a third time again this week) once in basic view and once in 3-D, and I must say that the few extra dollars that you would pay to see the 3-D version is well worth it. The dream sand moves beautifully off the screen and it is simply fantastic. Speaking of the dream sand, it was superb in its quality of animation (oh my goodness so sparkly!) and the movement of it seemed totally natural. The lighting, expressions, and texturing on the characters was by far the best I have ever seen. all the facial movements looked natural, from Jacks lopsided grin, to the swooning of the tooth fairies helpers it was all around brilliant.
Cast(aka voice actors):
Almost all of the voices were perfect for who they personified. Chris Pine did a wonderful job of playing the mischievous, rule braking, loner Jack frost, Isla Fischer played a wonderfully bubbly mother Fairy, Hugh Jackman sounded perfect as the Easter Bunny, and Alec Baldwin played a Russian Santa. Nuff said
Like with most films there are a few plot holes. After seeing the film for the first time I had a few questions which were mostly answered when I was slightly more emotionally stable the second time. This movie made me have many feels. I cried, and I have never cried over a film before or any other fictional media not during the Avengers (you know what scene Im talking about) or after the last episode of Sherlock from the second season( You know what I am referring to). I had actual emotions and I am usually a very bottled up person. This film covered the entire emotional spectrum and then some.
I might edit this later but my final word is this. WATCH THE FILM! It will get you into the holiday season and leave you wanting more. Oh and do yourself a favor, Don't watch the Twilight film, its so bad its funny.
