“Water does not resist. Water flows. When you plunge your hand into it, all you feel is a caress. Water is not a solid wall, it will not stop you. But water always goes where it wants to go, and nothing in the end can stand against it. Water is patient. Dripping water wears away a stone. Remember that, my child. Remember you are half water. If you can't go through an obstacle, go around it. Water does.”

― Margaret Atwood, The Penelopiad

11'' x 17'' Self-Portrait Drawings
As an emerging pencil artist, I am now offering quality self-portrait drawings. Whether you're looking for a gift for a special someone, or simply craving to have one in your room, you can place an order with me at any time!

Drawings are done in pure graphite, on 11'' x 17'' bristol boards. They are typically completed 2-3 weeks after the initial order has been placed.

All that I need is a photograph of your choice for me to work from, which can be sent to me either in a note or via email. The photo should be of a close up face(s), preferably with ample detail. Feel free to send me more than one photo to use as a reference, or to ask me for suggestions as to what to submit if you're unsure about which picture to select.

Once the drawing is completed, it will be packaged and delivered right to you! A digital copy of your drawing is also included for free.

Price for Graphite Portraits: $60.00 USD

For a little bit more, I can also add objects of color to your graphite portrait, such as butterflies, hearts, stars, etc. This will cost an extra twenty dollars.

*Larger sizes are also available if desired. Prices & delivery dates will vary based on size.

For more information, or to place an order, you can send me a note, or contact me via email:

My name is Andy, and I am a pencil artist from California. I enjoy drawing the faces of icons and legends, of ordinary people, and popular children's cartoon characters. I am mostly inspired by the fragility that makes up the human soul, which is oftentimes overshadowed by physical natures and materialism. As a dancer and a performer, I am ever intrigued by the dark nights, the mysteries & the magic in this world. Beauty, as defined through my art, is heart, strength, perseverance & humility. In life, I believe beauty is a quality best seen with closed eyes, for the grandeur of night skies would remain unknown in a life without darkness.

Hey guys, taking some time to share a few things with you. I'll try to keep it short. My 1st announcement: I have a new job! After a rigorous year of interning, I'll be starting my first day of work tomorrow as an x-ray tech! 2018 is shaping up to be such a year of change for me. I've also just been accepted to university, which is so crazy. Of course, I have been trying to make the most of the summer. As some of you may have noticed, I have been so motivated with my art lately. And well anyways, I'm making my 2nd announcement here first, as this community has really contributed to so much of my growth as an artist, a big, big thanks to everyone that's been supporting me, friends old & new! I've decided to finally start selling my work on DeviantArt, about time right? I've also opened up my own art store on  Def check it out if you can! It's been so wild a dream of mine to have an art business, ever since I graduated high school. At the same time tho, I have put a lot of time and thought into what I really want to do with my art. A question that we all probably ask ourselves: What drives you? I have always been a believer that art, whether it's visual, writing, music, dancing, etc., blossoms from a place deep & flammable within an artist. And I feel that with what we do here in life, things are more beautiful and more valuable when they are done with a purpose, such as to help others, or to spread kindness, or awareness for a cause.
:doublehug: revamp

And so, I'm setting myself on a fun mission, creating a scholarship program in alliance with my art business. Essentially, my goal is to help provide financial assistance for students in pursuit of higher education, and who have been diagnosed with the rare condition that I have, termed RRP. In short, RRP is a condition where benign growths on the vocal cords cause airway obstruction, as well as changes to voice quality, and for which recurrence often continues even after repeated surgical removal. It is said to be a rare condition, only affecting 4 children out of every 100,000. Although rare, this disease can be life threatening, and the few percentage of people diagnosed, in my opinion, struggle in much larger ways than most people can imagine. Thus, as an artist and patient with RRP, my goal with my art is to spread awareness for voice disorders, including this one, and to inspire those affected by any health condition really, to pursue a life that is whole and enriching, despite the challenges. I have created a GoFundMe page to help raise funds for my scholarship foundation, links will be on my profile for those of you interested in donating. Rainbow heart In addition, proceeds from my artwork will be going directly to students & scholarship winners. Currently, my plan is to save up enough funds to roll out scholarship applications by early next year! I'm super stoked, guys! I am very passionate for this cause, as I have been an RRP patient for over 23 years, requiring more surgeries than I care to count. I hope to team up with the RRP community to help grow this contribution, and to connect RRP patients in a way that is positive, and new & exciting! Hopefully, we can circulate this project, around dA & social media, helping individuals & families that are in need, while advocating for a cure to someday be found for recurrent respiratory papillomatosis. Absolutely can't wait to lift this off the ground!!

Much love, as always.

P.S. I'm curious to hear about what drives you as an artist. What maintains your creativity, and what inspires you to share that with others?
