Lovely sunset last night on Seven Mile Beach. Fairly light colours until the sun had dropped below the horizon and then it back-lit the clouds. :)
This particular sunset was at Gerroa last week, as the last of the summer holiday traffic headed north.
Shoalhaven Heads Beach
Alrighty then. It's been a little while since Shoalhaven Heads famous beach bench made an appearance on my page, so here it is. Lovely and misty this morning on the beach and, though the holidays are over for many, still pretty busy down there with fishermen, dog walkers, fitness classes, surfers, joggers and, ermm, photographers. :)
Chinamans Beach
So, the summer holidays draw to a close for another year and my six weeks of solitude can end! I can once again head out into the landscape of the south coast! Haha. This season hasn't been without its challenges for the authorities, with my friends at Shoalhaven Tourism doing their best to disperse the tourists amongst our many amazing beaches. Sailors Beach (the main beach in Hyams Beach Village) suffered particularly badly - it sure did feel like it was being loved to death. Sailors is a nice beach and everything, but I never will understand the greater obsession with it, not when there's beaches like Chinamans right next door. Ah well, more room for us locals to spread out our beach towels I guess. And it's all clear until the Easter long weekend. :)
Seven Mile Beach
The school summer holidays are nearing there end and soon the crowds will disappear once more from the beaches here in the south coast. I'm so used to having these places virtually to myself that I always find it surprising when there are people around enjoying the amazing beach, ocean and national park. Here's a time slice of a summer evening on Seven Mile with surfers, runners, families, walkers, kit fliers, kids and, yes, photographers, all enjoying the hot summer evening.

Been a member of this website for 15 years now and have enjoyed uploading all kinds of stuff here over the years. I started out making customised themes for Stardock's ObjectDock, back when 90% of the stuff on this site was about desktop customisation. The site was a creative outlet for me at a time when I didn't really have any other avenues to express myself in.

From there I moved into creating wallpapers, initially abstract stuff I knocked up in Cinema 3D and later vexels made by tracing round photographs in Photoshop. You can find examples of 'em in my gallery - my oldest upload dates from 2002 - but I've deleted about 75% of the stuff I put on this site because I couldn't bear to look at most of it.

In 2005 I finally got my own digital camera (a Canon G6 Powershot) although I wasn't completely cameraless before then because I used to review them for magazines like Stuff. Anyway - I loved that Canon and it served me well for about four years until one morning it committed suicide and refused to ever turn on again. So instead I turned to my iPhone, initially the 3GS and later on the 4 - both of which I used to take candid street photos.

Then my wife bought me a Canon DSLR - the EOS550D and I was a very happy chap. This awesome camera has enabled me to start taking the kinds of photos I've always loved - landscapes mainly - the more colourful the better. I've since upgraded to the Canon 7D Mark II. I live on the east coast of Australia, a few minutes from the Pacific Ocean and so the ocean figures heavily in my gallery, as does sunshine!
Just uploaded a collection of my photos of the Jervis Bay bio-luminiscence over at Flickr. Have a look if you've got a minute :)

Funny thing I noticed when I forgot your deviant handle, and had to do a quick search, nearly every Hutchinson on this site is a talented artist. :)
