Check out my collection of Space Trilogy art! :) [link]

This is a clay slab I made in May 2008 for a ceramics class, a depiction of Perelandra (Venus) from C.S. Lewis's Space Trilogy. Ransom watches the Green Lady as his island gradually draws nearer to hers.

Painted with the available powders, which fortunately included all the colours C.S. Lewis mentioned. :-P When I was building it I forgot that the sky was meant to be flat gold - I thought it was gold with a brighter area where the sun was. I like this huge bright spot though.... :-D

The slab shattered when I fired it - it had been drying for over a month, but I hadn't been told to fire it very slowly. Oh well XD

Feel free to use this image in C.S. Lewis-related articles, presentations, etc., with credit if possible. :)

GREAT book! So long, but well worth it once you get to the third one.

A beautiful, vibrant, and rolling depiction here. Keep up the great work!

Thank you very much! :) I would like to work with ceramics again someday, maybe make something more useful like a scene on the side of a pot instead of just a slab.... :-D

man, AWESOME piece! the colors are so vivid ... too bad it broke!! :(

Thank you! :-D There were only a few powders to choose from, but they were made from ground-up gemstones and such, so they gave pretty much pure color. :) I was going to keep the pieces and try to glue them together, but they got thrown away.... XD
